We know summer is only just on the way out but now is actually a really good time to start a course of IPL hair reduction to have smooth, hair-free legs for next summer.
Why is that?
IPL treatments need to be spaced apart. For the legs, that means about every 4-6 weeks. Only some of your hairs are in the correct stage of growth at any one time for permanent removal and so it can take a good number of months to complete your course. The earlier you start, the more hair-free you will be by next summer!
How does it work?
During IPL hair reduction treatments, the light is absorbed by the melanin in the hair and is converted into heat. This damages the follicle making it unable to support further hair growth. The number of treatments required will vary but you should expect to see significant results within 3-6 treatments. A full course of 6 to 10 treatments may be required to achieve long-lasting results. Treatments should be no more than every 4-6 weeks apart on each area being treated.
Is it permanent?
As with all permanent IPL hair reduction, you may still get some regrowth. Hormonal changes can cause hair to regrow too. Any hair you do have will be much softer and far less noticeable than the hair that you used to have. You will require a course of treatments for best results, and we recommend a top-up every now and then, your therapist will be able to work with you to establish how many treatments you need to stay fuzz-free. IPL can be used all over the body including; upper lip, back, arms, chin, bikini line and underarms.
